DoggyRade is the pet division of global animal health and nutrition company, Tonisity. Tonisity was founded in 2015, with the main goal to provide novel nutritional supplementary solutions, that are beneficial for animal health and nutrition. We launched our first range of now award-winning pet health drinks and gravy toppers at the beginning of 2021, and they are helping to improve pet health in over 20 countries today.
Keeping pets healthy all year round is more important than ever. Our products contain prebiotics which support good gut health, digestive health and intestinal function. Prebiotics are a source of food for the gut’s healthy bacteria and help them to grow. The more healthy bacteria in the gut, the better the overall immune health of your pet.
Our range of prebiotic drinks are isotonic. An isotonic drink encourages fast hydration in pets. It contains similar concentrations of salt and carbohydrates like those found in the body. It allows for nutrients to be absorbed directly into the bloodstream and quickly replaces fluids lost through sweating or when pets are dehydrated.
Dogs need a lot of fluid to cool themselves throughout the day. They primarily cool themselves through panting and footpads on the soles of their feet. They tend to lose fluids and electrolytes through exercise. If they lose too much fluid it can lead to dehydration. Puppies, in particular, are more prone to dehydration. Dogs tend to dislike the taste of chlorine in water and tend to drink as a necessity when thirsty.
When it comes to fluid intake, cats are different to dogs! They are evolved to be hunters and well-adapted to get most of their moisture from food. Unfortunately, they can be quite fussy about what they drink which makes it difficult to ensure they are taking in enough fluid. One in three cats experience some form of kidney disease, which can correlate to a lack of fluid intake and can often lead to urinary problems. It is vital to provide them with fluids to ensure they are properly hydrated and in good health.
